52 Lists Project // Week 10

52 Lists Project with Moorea Seal

Week 10
the ways you can cleanse for spring.

yoga once a week.
organize my photos - redo hallway photos.
organize my external hard drive. oh boy.
paint the bathroom and the guest bedroom.
take a camp trip with Jimi and Ozzie.
take longer walks with Ozzie. (when his knee feels better)
get a little vitamin D.
mop the floors.
buy bookkeeping software!
get all of our music (CDs) on to the computer. le sigh.
hang our hammock....ahem (Jimi).
sew a few things that need mending.
breathe in the fresh air.
eat healthier.
decorate for spring.
get a pedicure.
keep running/walking.
figure out a composting bin. install it.
fountains and wood wind chimes for our yards. i need those sounds in my life...now.
polish my wood furniture.
family time.

Okay I love cleaning...it is one of my favorite things to do when I am mad or I just need to clear my head. So you are not going to see a ton of typical cleaning things on my list. The kitchen is almost always clean and so is my desk/bench. I spent a lot of time in the second half of last year organizing everything in our house. I am most did a series of posts on it...but it was just way to much to share. There are still a few spots that need help, but for the most part everything has its home and that makes me really happy...I know I am weird. :)

Not all spring cleansing has to do with cleaning. There are those good self care items that go such a long way when we do them regularly or even occasionally as a boost. Then there are always those constant reminders that go on every list - like eat healthier and take longer walks - I must sound like a broken record toward myself.

What are some of your favorite spring cleansing tasks?

The Challenge
this week I will spring cleanse by....
getting a little Vitamin D...there is suppose to be so much sun this week in SoCal.
(i feel like this may be cheating....)

Enjoy!

The Wardrobe Code - The Closet

So this is a review of the third and final part to my journey with Nicole of the Wardrobe Code in her Becoming You Style Camp. Click image below for more details!

Part 1 - My Style Muse Board
Part 2 - The Outfits
Part 3 - Closet Organization

I love to be organized and have a place for everything so this part of the journey got me pretty excited. I knew my closet was unorganized, not at its most functional or did my clothes that much justice, but I was not really worried about it. Now, after having my closet organized in this fashion for a couple of months it just makes like so much easier and it makes so much sense!

Nicole's strategy and ideas for your closet are easy, realistic, logic and make your life so much easier! She will work with you and your individual situation with in her guidelines and help brainstorm with you great ideas that work for you and your closet.

My situation prior to The Wardrobe Code "Becoming You" style camp:

A dresser - sorted by tops, shorts, pants, etc. (i.e. most of my closet and a total mess) and 2/3 of our hanging closet - jackets, sweaters, nice tops (totally under utilized). That is about it.

This photo was taken before I got rid of anything and organized it, but after I had moved things around in between my dresser and hanging closet...this was my wardrobe before.

My situation now:

Dresser - casual clothes (pjs, workout clothes, sweatshirts), bigger accessories (like bags and hats)

After some rearranging this dresser was working out much better for me

2/3 of our hanging closet - my main wardrobe, hanging accessories (belts and scarves), my shoes

After - organized and installed rods to display belts, tights and scarves

Accessories Drawer - jewelry, headbands, sunglasses (these were kind of everywhere before)
***I don't know why I didn't think of this one before, my mom had a jewelry drawer when I was younger and I loved it...so much fun to try it all on...now I get to do the same thing, but I am dressing up for work instead.

This drawer was kinda a knick knack drawer before...love it now for my jewelry!

Follow along at Nicole's blog for more wardrobe and closet tips - really great stuff always happening over there.

Enjoy!

Getting in my Pinterest fill...

Today I am a bit obsessed with the home decor category of Pinterest.  I want it all for my own home, but if I were to have it all style would be lost, because I am never able to decide on just one style.  At my house each room seems to be different and I have that constant feeling of clutter.  I think it is safe to say I need more white in my life and that I need to simplify.  It is on the to do list.  For now I am just going to drool all over my keyboard, gawking at these gorgeous finds!  Check out the rest of my finds on my Pinterest page!  Enjoy!
